Our Daily Responsibility

I baptize you with water. But One who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. – Luke 3:16b

The Lord your God is a devouring fire – Deut 4:24a/Heb 12:29

The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out. – Lev 6:12-13

In diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord – Rom 12:11

Do not put out the Spirit’s fire. – 1Thes 5:19

The Fire on the Altar came from Himself

Fire blazed forth from the Lord’s presence and consumed the burnt offering – Lev 9:24a

responsibility to never let the fire go out

God’s Fire is His manifest and

As Paul gathered an armful of brushwood and was laying them on the fire, an extremely poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, fastened onto his hand. But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. – Acts 28:3, 5
