Better Together

Connections are made in , not

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up! – Ecc 4:9-10

Instead, you will chase your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword; Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand – Lev 26:8a

Synergy says, “The more you get involved, the more God gets involved!”

Sometimes we need people of ourselves

And you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah as prophet in your place – 1Ki 19:16b

And he (Elijah) said to him (Elisha), “Go back, for what have I done to you?” – 1Ki 19:20b

And Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here please, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel” – 2Ki 2:2

And Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” But he said, “As surely as the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho. – 2Ki 2:4

And Elijah said to him, “Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to the Jordan.” But he said, “As surely as the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them went on. – 2Ki 2:6

But Ruth said, “Do not plead with me to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you sleep, I will sleep. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. – Ruth 1:16

  Sometimes you help yourself

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ – Gal 6:2

And when they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and after digging an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralyzed man was lying. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” – Mark 2:4-5
