Things to Keep Out of Christmas
November 26, 2023 / Pastor Joseph BritainSo do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Matt 6:34
Hurried
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets – Matt 7:12
and
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. – Php 2:3-5
And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. – 1Cor 7:17 MSG
A Spirit
Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults – unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor. – Matt 7:1-5 MSG
