Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith – Heb 12:1-2a

Unmet Expectations

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life – Prov 13:12

Yesterday’s Unresolved Anger

Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord – Rom 12:19

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” – Matt 11:28-30 NLT

Unrepented Sin

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer. – Ps 32:3-4

They offer superficial treatments for my people’s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when there is no peace. – Jer 6:14 NLT
